Experience Design

One of the more exciting parts of our work has been audio design and audio project management for 'Experiences' . This could be an amusement park ride, a museum exhibition or a permanent installation. For these projects, we compose music, mix, record in multiple languages and manage what can be very complex production requirements.

The Rusty Parrot | Pirate Experience St. Martin | This project is still in development, for this we wrote a rousing 20 min orchestral score with highs and lows, bar scenes and battles. This is mixed over 5 rooms, each with up to 6 speakers to pin-point the sound-design. The tour in naratted in a choice of 6 lanuages which have also been recorded and mixed by us. In March we will travel to St. Martin to do the on-location mix.

Hammer of Thor - Theme park ride | Recently we worked on a theme park ride in Olso, Norway. The ride passes several 3D screens each with a different character from the legend of Thor. For this we managed all aspects of the audio from composing a rousing orchestral theme for each part of the ride, the sound-design for all the parts as well as a complex overlapping audio mix in 4.1 as each screen has it’s own triggered sound in stereo as well as a stereo signal in each of the carts. Bavaria Experience | Like many experiences there are numerous areas to explore. We composed several peices, each requiring it’s own specific style of music and mix, not only to work in studio conditions but also to work in the location they are installed. For Bavaria it was nessasary to do the final mix on location to compensate for the particulars of the space and the acoustics of the room.
